The creators of Bushi Sushi and Animals of Africa are at it again with a new video slot, this time with a pirate theme. Silver Seas is the latest love child from the partnership between Gold Coin Studios and Microgaming, and it has all of the terrific visuals and animations that players have come to expect from these two.

Video Silver Seas™ – Microgaming

Gold Coin Studios make great-looking games, and Silver Seas is no exception. The graphics are beautiful, and the animations are better than most recent releases. The Silver Seas colour scheme is an eye-pleasing dark blue and silver, no garish gold here. The background initially looks like it might be underwater, but then players will notice the torches and quickly realize it’s a view from inside a cave.

Silver Seas

The music for Silver Seas is a catchy pirate theme that switches tempo nicely during free spin rounds and wins. The money sounds and occasional pirate jargon are great additions to Silver Seas’ game sounds.

The regular symbols are gold and iron cannons, crossed swords, bottles of rum, and card suits that look like jewellery. The Wild symbol is a gold ship’s wheel with a prominent W in the middle. Silver Seas has two scatter symbols, which is a unique feature, and each scatter has a different function. The first scatter symbol is a silver coin embossed with a grinning one-eyed pirate skull, and the second is a shiny gold pirate ship with FS in the middle, which stands for Free Spins.

Silver Seas Features and Bonuses

The wild replaces all symbols in Silver Seas except the scatter and can appear on any reel. Thanks to this feature, the wins occur regularly and will keep players on the edge of their seats with each spin.

Silver Seas scatterWhen players land at least three of the silver coin scatters, they trigger the Epic Strike feature, where they can win the amount equivalent to the number of scatters, as shown on a scale to the left of the game grid. The amounts increase exponentially, with the top prize at 2,000x for landing nine scatter symbols. These scatters land on reels 2, 3, and 4.

Landing three of the gold ship scatters will open up a spinning wheel, which awards between ten and thirty free spins and multipliers up to 3x. This feature is re-triggered if players land three gold ship scatters during the free spins. These wins add up quickly, and the fact that they occur randomly makes the game pretty exciting.

Verdict

Silver Seas is another terrific game from Gold Coin Studios and Microgaming. It’s visually impressive, and the animations are a lot of fun. Who doesn’t like a craggy old pirate skull saying “shiver me timbers”?

Silver Seas wildThe game play of Silver Seas will meet the wants and needs of both experienced and new players. It’s fun to play, easy to understand, and yet not so volatile that it will frighten players’ bank accounts. The maximum win and significant betting range will keep thrill-seeking players happy as well.

Silver Seas is different enough for gamers who are fans of the pirate genre to make it interesting while not being so innovative that it’s overwhelming or confusing. Silver Seas is definitely a pirate game worth checking out.
